Hyatt Regency, Bethesda 1 Metro Upgrades

Scaffold Resource fabricated and installed access to the exterior of the skylight to assist with its replacement. A Ladder Track System was place to assist in this as well as V Chairs at 3 elevations along the ladder track. Sixteen inch wide pick boards that measured 20 ft in length with guard rails were used for the platforms at 3 levels and approximately 60 foot long plane systems from the uplift. These platforms were installed in three phases.

Overhead Protection was also installed in the lobby area at the 1st and 3rd levels totaling 250 linear feet by 7 feet wide. The OHP platforms were rated for 150 psf with netting included on both sides for extra protection at all locations due to the hotel lobby remaining open during all phases of work. The netting added further protection from potential falling objects.

Additionally, an exterior hoist was maintained for material handling and movement as these could not be transferred thru the busy hotel. Two 550 post shores and Six 350 post shores were furnished and installed under the hoist tower to distribute the weight loads at levels P1 & P2.
