Project Description
Scaffold Resource furnished & installed a scaffold access system for multiple trade access to the 50,000 sq ft. façade of the intricately shaped Smithsonian Arts & Industries building, the first U.S National Museum. We maintained the structural integrity of the building while the existing roof of the building was removed by providing a waterproof deck. This deck created a work platform for restoration experts and ensured the interior of the building was dry & protected from weather. Our engineer’s custom designed a netting to cover the scaffold and used compression tie-ins as to not penetrate the façade while holding the net in place during high wind loads.
