Constitution Center

Interior renovation of 2 million square feet. The personnel material hoist used to supply material and man power from grade to the 11th floor and roof.

Hoist challenges included:

  • 1,000,000 S.F. of renovation
  • Maintain open public walkways around three sides of building
  • Maintain upkeep on single hoist that served multiple trades and activities
  • Extremely aggressive production schedule

Health and Human Services Headquarters

Multiple year – multiple phase interior and external renovation of the main headquarters for the Department of Health & Human Services utilizing dual cars – personnel/material hoists with high speed capabilities for this high traffic – high volume project.

Hoist challenges included:

  • Portions of the building remain active throughout phases of work
  • Hoists will be relocated midway through project completion
  • Special installation required due to proximity to public traffic zone
  • Special safety requirements due to the proximity to high voltage power lines

Hay Adams Hotel

Personnel material hoist used above an active alley way of occupied building to service vertical addition to building.

Hoist challenges included:

  • Serviced roof and exterior scaffolding for the buildings 2 story addition
  • Hoist built over an active alley way which included a high traffic loading dock
  • A complex back structure required due to building existing setbacks.
  • Scaffold structure needed between hoist and existing building to accommodate architectural features.
